# The Tyee

The Tyee is an independent nonprofit Vancouver online news magazine with current British Columbia music reporting, a biweekly podcast, free newsletters and a direct no-fee editorial route for relevant story pitches, tips and press releases.

## Submissions

The Tyee — open to submissions, by email at editor@thetyee.ca, requested materials: a one-line pitch or proposed headline with a clear [PITCH] subject line, a scene or two and quotations when appropriate, a clear, fresh hook explaining why the outlet’s readers should care, the sources the writer plans to approach and what they add, why the story belongs in The Tyee and its intended section, why the writer is the right person to tell the story.
