The artist
Abdominal is the stage name of Toronto rapper Andy Bernstein. Active since the late 1990s, he developed a conversational, detail-rich style shaped by freestyle technique, humour and everyday subject matter. His work includes collaborations with DJ Fase, DJ Format and the Obliques, as well as the solo album Escape from the Pigeon Hole. The song Pedal Pusher earned the 2007 SOCAN Songwriting Prize. He remained active through the 2024 Sam Redmore collaboration Mother Earth. MusicList uses a rights-clean monogram rather than unlicensed photography.
