The artist

Alain Trudel is a Quebec conductor, trombonist, and composer who first appeared as a soloist with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra at eighteen. He went on to perform internationally as a trombonist before developing a broad conducting career across Canada and abroad. Trudel currently serves as artistic director and principal conductor of the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières and leads the Toledo Symphony Orchestra. His earlier posts include the CBC Radio Orchestra, Orchestre symphonique de Laval, Brott Music Festival, National Academy Orchestra of Canada, and youth and family programs at the National Arts Centre. His recordings span solo trombone, opera, orchestral repertoire, and family music, including the 2025 album Bambini symphonique with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Trudel was named a Knight of the National Order of Quebec in 2019.
