The artist

Aleksi Campagne is a bilingual Montreal singer-songwriter and violinist whose work combines contemporary indie folk with fiddle technique and live looping. The son of Canadian folk musicians Connie Kaldor and Paul Campagne, he studied classical and jazz violin at McGill University and with Didier Lockwood in France. His 2023 debut appeared as two parallel albums, For the Giving in English and Sans rien donner in French. Campagne was named French Songwriter of the Year at the 2024 Canadian Folk Music Awards. In January 2026, he won Ma première Place des Arts along with the Prix Distinction, the Prix Étoiles Stingray, and the Prix Chanson de l'année Hydro-Québec for Rome. He remained active through 2026 with performances at Les Francos de Montréal, the Festival international de la chanson de Granby, and other Canadian dates.
