About

The artist

Alexis Normand is a Saskatoon-based Fransaskois singer-songwriter, musician, producer, and documentary filmmaker. After studying music and education, she trained at the École nationale de la chanson in Granby and returned to Saskatchewan to build a bilingual artistic practice. Her solo catalog includes Mirador, the self-titled Alexis Normand, Mementos, and the 2024 French-language collection Empreintes. She was also a member of the internationally touring trio Rosie & the Riveters. Normand's writing connects family memory, language, prairie landscape, identity, and community, moving between contemporary folk, chanson, and jazz-influenced arrangements. She has been recognized as Francophone Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards, performed across Canada and France, directed the award-winning documentary French Enough, and continued appearing in Saskatchewan music and folk programs through 2025.
