The artist
Amero is an Edmonton instrumental project founded by guitarist and composer Clayton Amero. The group connects progressive-metal riffs and breakdowns with contemporary-jazz harmony, saxophone, trumpet, keyboards, and improvisation. Its catalog includes the 2021 debut A Room with a View of More Rooms and the 2025 album Simply Reject Entropy. The latter features Clayton Amero, Jacob Rabuka, Graeme Newburn, Roman Dubrule, and Liam Shearer and led to a 2025 Western Canadian Music Award nomination for Instrumental Artist of the Year.
