About

The artist

Anglesh Major is a Montréal musician, producer, composer, and actor who moves between recorded music and performance. He began making beats as a teenager when he wanted to rap but could not afford instrumentals, then discovered that composing interested him more than performing over someone else's production. Early beat-making led to Loop Sessions and collaborations with Quebec artists including Souldia, Imposs, Shah Frank, Zach Zoya, DJ Manifest, David Campana, and Shotto Guapo. His first public catalog entries appeared in 2019, followed by the four-song EP Ephemere on Disques 7ième Ciel in November 2021. The project blends hip-hop production with R&B, soul, funk, trap, and boom-bap textures. Major also composes for theatre and screen. His stage work includes music for King Dave and original music and sound editing for the Théâtre de Quat'Sous, including its 2024-2025 season work. A 2025 interview confirmed that he continued producing for himself and other artists while maintaining an active acting career. His artist-controlled Bandcamp and SoundCloud profiles identify Montréal as his base, and the exact Spotify, Apple Music, and public identity records resolve this profile to the same multidisciplinary artist.
