About

The artist

Anthony Scott Burns is a Toronto-based Canadian composer, electronic musician, writer, director, cinematographer, editor, and visual effects artist who records as Pilotpriest. Born in Kitchener, Ontario, he began his professional creative career in design before moving into filmmaking and music. Pilotpriest's 2009 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack established a cinematic electronic language built from synthesizers, dance rhythms, and imagined film cues. Burns later wrote, directed, photographed, edited, and co-composed the science-fiction feature Come True. Its 2021 soundtrack, created with Electric Youth and released by Milan Records, combines live strings, synthesizers, and vocals across a 15-track score. His artist-controlled Bandcamp catalog also includes Your Hour from 2022 and the spring EP from April 2026, and continues to identify Toronto as his base. Across these projects, Burns links electronic composition directly to his work in film, sound design, and visual storytelling.
