About
The artist
Formed in Victoria in 2015, Astrocolor developed a genre-blurring instrumental sound the group calls AstroJazz. The band combines saxophone, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, samples, and electronic production in music shaped by jazz improvisation, psychedelia, funk, lounge, and dance music. Its catalog includes Astrocolor II, Astrocolor III, Hue, Paradise, Moonlighting – AstroJazz, Vol. 1, and Stargazing – AstroJazz, Vol. 2. Produced by Neil James Cooke-Dallin, Stargazing extends the group's cosmic concept through introspective grooves and organic live instrumentation. Astrocolor has received four Western Canadian Music Award nominations and won Instrumental Artist of the Year. The 2025 single Lofi Moon and current Victoria and Vancouver concerts confirm continuing activity.
