About
The artist
Atlantis Jazz Ensemble was founded in Ottawa in 2013 by saxophonist Zakari Frantz and pianist Pierre Chrétien, two musicians connected to the Souljazz Orchestra. The group developed its approach through live performance before releasing “Oceanic Suite” in 2016. It returned with “Celestial Suite” in 2023 and completed that album trilogy with “Mystic Suite” in February 2026. The quintet’s music blends modal and spiritual jazz with soul-jazz colour, Afro-Atlantic rhythm and collective improvisation. In 2026, the ensemble remained active through a new album, repeat pressings and live dates in the Ottawa–Gatineau region. MusicList uses a rights-clean monogram instead of unlicensed photography.
