About
The artist
ATTLAS is the electronic music project of Toronto producer and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Hartford. Classically trained on piano and trumpet, Hartford also learned guitar, bass, and banjo, played in bands, and worked with film composer Trevor Morris before turning his studio practice toward electronic production. He sent early demos to deadmau5's mau5trap label in 2014. The anonymous Aural Psynapse remix prompted speculation that ATTLAS was a deadmau5 alias before Pete Tong identified Hartford on air. A trilogy of six-track EPs, Siren, Scene, and Sin, followed in 2015, establishing a detailed style that connects ambient music, progressive house, IDM, techno, trance, and cinematic composition. ATTLAS released Lavender God and Out Here With You in 2020, followed by Carry It With You in 2021. Lavender God and Out Here With You each received a Juno Award nomination for Electronic Album of the Year. Hartford also records as one half of Sun Lo with singer Richard Walters and has remixed artists including Rihanna, Tove Lo, Phantogram, Pendulum, and I Hate Models. Recent activity includes the 2026 ATTLAS and Mango single Angel Montreal and an Armada Music remix of Ursa Minor.
