The artist

Blank Banshee is the electronic music project of Patrick Driscoll, a producer and visual artist from Saint John, New Brunswick. Driscoll first performed with Curtis Ferguson in Shinjuku Mad and the duo Blank Banshees before continuing alone under the singular name. He moved to the West Coast in 2012 and uploaded Blank Banshee 0 while temporarily living in Victoria. The album's blend of vaporwave sampling, trap percussion, ambient space, and computer-era imagery became an early reference point for the style later called vaportrap. Blank Banshee 1 followed in 2013, while Mega in 2016 expanded the project's digital psychedelia and supported an international tour. Metamorphosis, Gaia, Music for Menus, and 4D moved through ambient, IDM, dance music, and increasingly detailed synthesis without abandoning the project's fascination with obsolete interfaces, game graphics, and virtual environments. Driscoll also creates much of Blank Banshee's visual language, using masks, animation, custom websites, and interactive story fragments as extensions of the records. During a 2023 tour interview, he confirmed that he had moved back to Saint John after a decade in Vancouver. The official site remains active with music, downloads, and new narrative material. Blank Banshee's work connects a New Brunswick perspective to a global internet-music audience while treating sound, image, and fictional technology as parts of the same project.
