About
The artist
Bon Débarras is a Montreal traditional-music trio featuring Dominic Desrochers, Jean-François Dumas, and Véronique Plasse. Formed through encounters around Montreal's Noël dans le parc, the project connects Quebec song traditions with original writing, poetry, step dance, and body percussion. Its arrangements draw on guitar, banjo, violin, harmonica, voices, and foot percussion while also reflecting the members' work in dance, theatre, education, and cultural transmission. The group released its self-titled debut in 2009, followed by Errance, Le loup de Noël, En panne de silence, and Repères. Repères received the Félix award for Traditional Album of the Year. Bon Débarras en famille appeared in 2023, followed by the family-oriented J'm'en viens chez vous! in 2024. The related stage production received an Opus award for youth production and has been presented more than sixty times. Bon Débarras remains active with a 2026 Showcase Scotland appearance and an extensive schedule across Quebec and Ontario. The current official biography identifies the group as a collaboration among three Montreal artists and emphasizes original repertoire rooted in Quebec culture.
