About
The artist
Boy Golden is the stage name of Winnipeg singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Liam Duncan. Born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba, Duncan moved to Winnipeg and first became known through the indie-rock group The Middle Coast and recordings released under his own name. He created Boy Golden in 2021 as a more open, playful, and community-minded musical identity. The debut album Church of Better Daze joined alternative country, psych-folk, bluegrass, and roadhouse pop with songs about creativity, friendship, rest, and finding useful pleasure in everyday life. The single KD and Lunch Meat reached number one at Canadian alternative radio. For Jimmy followed in 2023 and received Contemporary Album of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Boy Golden has toured throughout North America, including an extensive run with the Sheepdogs, while also producing records for other artists. Best of Our Possible Lives arrived in 2026, supported by the singles Suffer, Cowboy Dreams with Cat Clyde, and Like a Child. Current official channels document an active North American tour and identify Six Shooter Records, Watchdog Management, and Canadian and United States booking teams. A 2026 Relix profile continues to identify Duncan as a Winnipeg-based musician.
