About

The artist

Brandi Vezina is a Red River Métis country singer and songwriter based in Winnipeg. Raised in a musical family at Stony Point, Manitoba, she grew up singing, playing guitar, and hearing country and rock music at family gatherings. Vezina worked as an educator before committing seriously to recording and performance in 2019. Her songs draw on sobriety, relationships, family memory, self-respect, and the history of Manitoba communities. Early singles and the #dontsettle EP established a country-blues sound with a direct, assertive voice. She received the Manitoba Country Music Association's NCI Indigenous Country Music Award in 2023 and the Vince Fontaine Legacy Award in 2024. The 2025 EP Grit & Glamour includes Next Time I Love and Paper Town, a collaboration with Winnipeg songwriter Scott Nolan about a mill closure and its effects on a community. Paper Town later received the association's Fay Walker songwriting award for Vezina and Nolan. Lighthouse, written and recorded through the Amazon Indigenous Song Camp, arrived in March 2026. Vezina's official site documents the 2026 Highways & Wildflowers Tour, while Indigenous Music and Manitoba sources continue to identify her as a Winnipeg-based Métis artist.
