About

The artist

Christine Fellows is a Winnipeg singer-songwriter, pianist, composer, and interdisciplinary artist who builds songs from close observation, historical detail, and everyday sound. Her solo catalogue began with 2 Little Birds in 2000 and developed through records including The Last One Standing, Paper Anniversary, Nevertheless, and Femmes de chez nous. Those releases established a form of piano-led folk pop that balances dark humour, carefully drawn characters, and chamber-like arrangements. Fellows has also created music with visual artists, choreographers, filmmakers, dancers, and museum collections. Her residencies at Winnipeg's Contemporary Dancers and Le Musée de Saint-Boniface helped turn research and place into performances, scores, and recordings. Later independent releases Roses on the Vine and Stuff We All Get continued that approach through her Vivat Virtute imprint. Stuff We All Get, released in 2022, listens closely to domestic spaces, memory, and the sounds of daily life. Fellows regularly collaborates with John K. Samson, cellist Leanne Zacharias, violist Jennifer Thiessen, and other Winnipeg artists. Current evidence confirms that she remains based in Winnipeg and professionally active: she performed at the West End Cultural Centre in January 2026, and her official calendar lists a trio appearance with Thiessen and Zacharias in August 2026.
