About

The artist

Daniela Andrade is a Honduran-Canadian singer-songwriter, producer, and visual artist based in Montreal. Born in Montreal and raised in Edmonton, she began sharing stripped-down guitar and vocal performances online as a teenager in 2008. Her interpretations of songs by artists including Edith Piaf, Radiohead, and Gnarls Barkley built a large international audience, while early releases such as Things We've Said, Covers, Vol. 1, and The Christmas EP established an independent recording catalog. The Shore EP moved beyond acoustic arrangements into spacious electronics and R&B, and the 2019 project Tamale brought Honduran family history, Latin rhythm, soul, and visual storytelling into closer focus. Nothing Much Has Changed, I Don't Feel the Same followed in 2020, extending her work as a producer and director. Andrade received the 2020 Prism Prize Hi-Fidelity Award for a consistently creative and innovative use of music video. After the 2024 single Biking, she developed her first full-length album of original songs, Oda. Released through Crooked Lid Records in March 2026, the album uses English, Spanish, and family voice notes to explore her relationship with her mother, cultural memory, anger, tenderness, language, and reconciliation. Artist-controlled Bandcamp credits Andrade as album producer and creative director, while current tour listings document a North American run beginning in Montreal and continuing through Canada, the United States, and Mexico in 2026. The canonical Spotify identifier matches MusicBrainz, Wikidata, the official site, Bandcamp, Apple Music, and the same Oda catalog. Current AllMusic information identifies Andrade as Montreal-based, and 2024 music coverage independently describes the same Montreal base. This bilingual profile uses original editorial writing, omits public contact values, and does not imply artist ownership of the listing.
