About

The artist

David Laflèche is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer, arranger, composer, and musical director based in Sainte-Adèle, Quebec. Raised in a musical family, he is the son of bandleader Jacques Laflèche and singer Hélène Levasseur and the nephew of Canadian performer Gisele MacKenzie. He studied electric guitar at Berklee College of Music before building a broad career in Quebec studios, television productions, award galas, and large-scale concerts. Laflèche became a familiar musical director on programs including Bons baisers de France and La Voix and has led music for the ADISQ gala and other televised events. As a guitarist, arranger, and producer, he has worked with artists including Céline Dion, Lara Fabian, Isabelle Boulay, Marie-Mai, Roch Voisine, Les Cowboys Fringants, Daniel Bélanger, Serge Fiori, Half Moon Run, Ariane Moffatt, Matt Lang, Elisapie, and many others. He also composed music for the film Starbuck. Laflèche and producer Connor Seidel founded Treehouse Music Collective, a recording facility in Sainte-Adèle where the surrounding Laurentian landscape is part of the studio's creative identity. His first solo album, Everyday Son, arrived in 2021 after the single We Collided and moved his own voice to the foreground through country, folk, and Americana songwriting. Everyday Son Unplugged presented the material as a direct solo acoustic performance in 2024, followed by an extended edition and the French-language single Les marées. His current work also includes the Big O String Band, a Montreal bluegrass project active on Quebec stages since 2024. The canonical Spotify identifier matches MusicBrainz, the official artist site, Bandcamp, Apple Music, PalmarèsADISQ, and the same solo catalog. Current official artist and studio pages identify his active production base in Sainte-Adèle and the Laurentians. Exact English and French payloads were reviewed before approval, no private contact value is exposed, and the listing remains sourced and unclaimed.
