The artist

Devi McCallion is a Toronto electronic musician, songwriter, producer, and performer who has released music under her own name and through several project identities since the mid-2000s. Her catalog includes early work as Eat Babies, a long sequence of releases as Girls Rituals, collaborations with Katie Dey, and the noise-pop duo Black Dresses with Ada Rook. Across these projects, McCallion combines distorted electronic production, pop melody, industrial texture, diaristic writing, humour, and abrupt stylistic shifts. The collaborative album Some New Form of Life with Katie Dey arrived in 2018 and was followed by Magic Fire Brain in 2020. McCallion and Rook formed Black Dresses in 2017 and developed an independently released catalog that includes WASTEISOLATION, LOVE AND AFFECTION FOR STUPID LITTLE BITCHES, Peaceful as Hell, Forever in Your Heart, Forget Your Own Face, and LAUGHINGFISH.
