The artist

Ducks Ltd. are a Toronto jangle-pop duo formed by singer, bassist, and rhythm guitarist Tom McGreevy and lead guitarist Evan Lewis. McGreevy was born in the United Kingdom and raised in the United States, while Lewis is Australian; the two met through Toronto's music community while playing in other local bands and applying for permanent residence. They began writing together in 2018 under the name Ducks Unlimited, building songs around tightly interlocked guitars, drum-machine propulsion, compact hooks, and lyrics that place private anxiety beside urban and social pressure. The early Get Bleak EP was expanded and reissued after the duo adopted the Ducks Ltd. name and signed with Toronto label Royal Mountain Records and Carpark Records. Modern Fiction followed in 2021, with songs including 18 Cigarettes and How Lonely Are You? The 2024 album Harm's Way widened the production through sessions in Chicago with Dave Vettraino and contributors connected to Finom, Ratboys, Dehd, Moontype, Dummy, and Patio. Its songs examine strained relationships, suffering, urban decline, and the effort required to remain present for other people. Harm's Way was longlisted for the 2024 Polaris Music Prize. Ducks Ltd. remained active through the 2025 single Lloyd, I'm Ready to Be Heartbroken and the 2026 single Easy Come, Easy Go, followed by a fifth-anniversary edition of Modern Fiction in May 2026.
