About

The artist

Elliott BROOD is a Toronto-based trio formed in 2002 by songwriters Mark Sasso and Casey Laforet, with percussionist and recording engineer Stephen Pitkin completing the lineup. The group developed an acoustic but hard-driving approach that has been described as alt-country, folk rock, and death country. Tin Type introduced the project in 2004, followed by Ambassador in 2005 and Mountain Meadows in 2008. Mountain Meadows reached the 2009 Polaris Music Prize Short List, while Days Into Years later received a JUNO Award. Subsequent albums including Work and Love, Ghost Gardens, and Keeper expanded the band's palette with electric texture, synthesizers, and studio experimentation while retaining its percussive live character. The 2023 album Town and the 2024 companion Country were later combined as Town and Country. Artist-controlled catalog pages also document seasonal and collaborative releases, live recordings, and covers, with SANTACLAUGE 2 extending the catalog in December 2025. The band's official site continues to list updated tour dates, and Six Shooter Records maintains Elliott BROOD on its current artist roster. The exact Spotify, MusicBrainz, official-site, Bandcamp, and label identities resolve to the same trio. The current artist-controlled Bandcamp profile identifies Toronto, Ontario, as the group's location. English and French copy and translation provenance were reviewed, the public inquiry route links to the official site, Spotify media is provider-attributed, and no private contact information is reproduced.
