About
The artist
Emily Steinwall is a Toronto songwriter, vocalist, saxophonist, flutist and producer. Her artist-controlled catalog traces a path from the 2018 Peace Theatre Sessions through the 2021 debut Welcome to the Garden and into the 2026 album but, there's beauty in the fall from Grace. The newer record expands her blend of progressive rock, art pop and jazz-shaped arrangements with guitar, pedal steel, organ, horns and layered voices. Steinwall wrote and produced the album, recorded its core sessions in Toronto, and remains closely identified with the city's music community. In 2022, Welcome to the Garden won the English SOCAN Songwriting Prize. MusicList uses a rights-clean monogram instead of unlicensed photography.
