About
The artist
Familiars is a Toronto, Ontario trio making loud, heavy Canadiana through psychedelic rock, stoner grooves and roots-minded storytelling. Guitarist and vocalist Kevin Vansteenkiste, bassist and vocalist Jared MacIntyre and drummer Anton Babych developed the band's spacious approach across early singles and EPs before the full-length “All In Good Time.” The artist-controlled catalog identifies Ontario, while Canadian-scene coverage identifies the group as Toronto-based and documents its continuing lineup. The 2024 album “Easy Does It” broadened the mix with blues, country-rock and shoegaze colour, and the band's current site and Bandcamp remain active.
