About

The artist

Faouzia is a Winnipeg-based Moroccan-Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Born in Casablanca and raised in Manitoba, she began writing songs as a child and first drew wider attention through Manitoba francophone and songwriting competitions. Her early catalog established a forceful pop vocal style through songs such as This Mountain, Tears of Gold, and Born Without a Heart. She later collaborated with David Guetta on Battle, John Legend on Minefields, Kelly Clarkson on an Arabic-language version of I Dare You, and artists including G.E.M. and ILLENIUM. The 2022 project CITIZENS gathered songs including RIP, Love and Puppet, while her first full-length album, FILM NOIR, arrived in November 2025 after she moved into an independent phase of her career. FILM NOIR (fin), released in June 2026, extends that album to fourteen tracks. The exact Spotify identity currently contains 70 distinct album and single containers from September 2017 through June 2026. Her current official site supports the exact artist identity, active catalog, and artist-controlled professional channel. Exclaim identifies her as Winnipeg-based in April 2026, while Manitoba Music and the Winnipeg Free Press independently place her within Manitoba's active music community in late 2025. A November 2025 interview notes that she spends substantial working time in Los Angeles, but does not report a move away from her Winnipeg base. English and French copy and translation provenance were reviewed together, Spotify media is rendered with provider attribution, professional inquiries are routed through the official site, and no direct personal contact details are republished.
