The artist

FUUDGE is a Montreal francophone heavy-rock band formed in 2016 around songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist David Bujold. The artist-controlled Bandcamp describes its sound through grunge, stoner rock, noise, psychedelia, and other heavy-rock forms. Bujold initially wrote, performed, recorded, and mixed much of the project himself, while drummer Olivier Laroche, bassist and vocalist Pierre Alexandre, and keyboardist Vincent LaBoissonnière formed the live quartet. The first six-track EP arrived in 2016, followed by Man! in 2017, Les Matricides in 2018, Fruit-Dieu in 2020, and the filmed and recorded Déplogué au Grand Théâtre de Québec in 2021. ...qu'un cauchemar devienne si vrai returned the band to abrasive studio rock in 2023. In a direct May 2026 interview, Bujold marked the project's tenth anniversary, more than 200 performances, and a shift toward full-band recording for Les horribles. The 13-track album was released through Folivora Records on May 15, 2026, with Bujold handling production, tracking, mixing, vocals, and guitar alongside Alexandre, LaBoissonnière, and Laroche. A Francos de Montréal launch show and further 2026 performances confirm current activity. The same interview documents five Francouvertes prizes, four Lucien awards, and a 2025 sync award; earlier reporting identifies two GAMIQ EP Rock of the Year wins and an Album Rock of the Year win for Les Matricides.
