About

The artist

Gabrielle Shonk is a Montreal singer-songwriter raised in Quebec City in a musical family. She studied jazz and music, developed her writing and performance work in Quebec City clubs, and first drew broad attention with Habit in 2016. Her self-titled debut arrived in September 2017 with seven songs in English and three in French, combining folk, soul, jazz phrasing, and pop melody. The album earned a 2019 Juno Award nomination for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. After a period away from releasing her own records, Shonk returned with How We Used To Be and Aftertaste in 2022. Across The Room followed through Arts & Crafts in February 2023. The 11-track second album traces heartbreak, endings, self-recovery, and renewed creative confidence, and includes People Pleaser, Remember To Breathe, 5AM, and the French-language Quand le calme reviendra. Shonk continued performing across Canada through 2024 and 2025 and appeared on current collaborations with Simon Kearney, Jesse Mac Cormack, and Marco Ema. Arts & Crafts continues to list her among its active artists, while her official website maintains current management, booking, and press routes. The exact Spotify identity contains seven distinct primary album and single containers from July 2017 through February 2023: two albums and five provider-classified singles. Multi-track single containers are retained as classified rather than silently converted. Apple Music corroborates the exact identity, Canadian origin, catalog, and singer-songwriter classification. Current artist-controlled and label sources identify Montreal as her base, Arts & Crafts as the current label, Bled Celhyka in management, and Andre Guerette and Simon Chartrand in booking. The public profile links to the official contact page and does not republish any direct email address. English and French copy and translation provenance were reviewed together, and Spotify media is rendered with provider attribution.
