The artist

Ghostkeeper is a Calgary-based Métis experimental pop and rock band formed around singer-songwriter and guitarist Shane Ghostkeeper and singer-songwriter, percussionist, and electronic musician Sarah Houle. Active since 2008, the project has moved through several lineups while keeping that core partnership at its centre. Its music draws together psychedelic and noisy pop, country, blues, indie rock, and Indigenous musical influences in songs shaped by community, culture, spirituality, and northern Alberta roots. The 2022 album Multidimensional Culture reached the 2023 Polaris Music Prize long list, followed by the stripped-back Cîpayak Joy in 2024. The 2026 single Mohkinstsis reunited the core duo with drummer Eric Hamelin and bassist Ryan Bourne, opening another chapter in the band's evolving catalog.
