The artist

Groovy Aardvark is an alternative-rock band formed by students in Longueuil, Quebec in 1986. Initially called Schizophrenic Muff Divers, the group adopted its current name the following year and developed a bilingual sound that moves among punk, hardcore, heavy rock, funk, and irreverent Quebec songwriting. Its 1990s albums Eater's Digest, Vacuum, Oryctérope, and the live collection Exit Stage Dive established songs such as Y'a Tu Kelkun?, Boisson d'avril, Le p'tit bonheur, and Dérangeant in Quebec's alternative-rock culture. Masothérapie followed in 2002. After ending its first continuous run in 2005, the band reunited for live activity in 2011 and has continued to return to Quebec stages. Recent releases include Le CPR Blues à Jane in 2023 and Dieu est occupé, on peut-tu t'aider? in December 2024. Current independent festival, venue, ticketing, and DSP listings document an active 2026 Quebec schedule, including St-Marc Pardu Dans L'Bois and La Chapelle spectacles.
