About
The artist
Harem Scarem is a Toronto melodic hard-rock band formed in 1987 by vocalist Harry Hess and guitarist Pete Lesperance. The group developed its early sound around layered vocals, prominent guitar leads, and anthemic choruses, releasing its self-titled debut in 1991 and the heavier Mood Swings in 1993. Harem Scarem built a sustained international audience, particularly in Japan and Europe, while moving through hard rock, melodic rock, and a period of power-pop experimentation under the name Rubber. After a recording break following Hope in 2008, the band reunited in 2013 for Mood Swings II and continued with Thirteen, United, and Change the World. Chasing Euphoria arrived through Frontiers in April 2025 as the group's first new album in five years, followed by a European tour. The exact Spotify identity contains 18 primary album and single containers from August 1991 through April 2025: 12 albums and six singles. The 98-track Ultimate Collection is counted as one provider album container, so these figures are not a work-level discography. Current Frontiers material confirms the continuing Hess and Lesperance partnership and presents Harem Scarem as an active Canadian band. The current Apple artist record identifies Toronto, Ontario as the band's location, but Apple search also exposes a same-name collision: artist ID 18213119 mixes part of the Canadian hard-rock catalog with albums by the unrelated Scottish folk band, while a second ID belongs to another rock act. Apple Music is therefore omitted from the public platform links rather than presenting a contaminated identity. The exact Spotify profile, Frontiers roster, and 2025 release remain collision-free. The Toronto label here describes the band entity and does not claim any member's private residence. Professional discovery routes through the official Frontiers artist page. Direct contact details are not republished, and Spotify media is displayed remotely with provider attribution.
