About

The artist

Harm & Ease is a Toronto rock band founded in Burlington, Ontario in 2010 by vocalist Rylan Whalen and guitarist Danny Lopez. After its beginnings as an acoustic duo, the project expanded and developed through several years in Buenos Aires, where bassist and guitarist John Goodblood joined the group. Drummer Alex Hamnett later completed the core lineup after the band returned to Canada. That cross-border history shaped a sound built from blues-inflected riffs, large vocal hooks, and contemporary rock production. The band released Black Magic Gold in 2018, then reached a wider Canadian audience with Cut Me Loose and its viral performance clip. The song's momentum preceded a 2023 JUNO Award nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year. Harm & Ease continued releasing singles through 2023 and 2024 before issuing AFTERLIFE in October 2025. The exact Spotify identity contains 16 primary album and single containers from December 2018 through October 2025: two albums and 14 singles. Some Spotify items classified as singles contain multiple tracks, so this is a provider-container count rather than a work-level discography. Apple Music resolves the same current catalog under artist ID 1201287029. NXNE's 2025 roster identifies the band as an Ontario act, lists its Burlington hometown and Whalen, Lopez, Goodblood, and Hamnett as the performing lineup, while the artist-controlled Spotify biography and a current Ontario directory describe the band as Toronto-based. Professional discovery routes through the band's official link hub. Direct personal contact details are not republished, and Spotify media is displayed remotely with provider attribution.
