About
The artist
Helix is a hard rock and heavy metal band formed in Kitchener, Ontario in 1974. The group began as the Helix Field Band and shortened its name as it developed a steady Canadian club circuit. Independent albums Breaking Loose and White Lace & Black Leather established the early catalog before a Capitol Records period brought No Rest for the Wicked, Walkin' The Razor's Edge, Long Way To Heaven, and Wild In The Streets. Songs including Heavy Metal Love, Rock You, Deep Cuts the Knife, and Gimme Gimme Good Lovin' became enduring parts of the band's live identity. Vocalist Brian Vollmer has remained the central member through extensive lineup changes, international touring, later studio projects, acoustic reworkings, and holiday material. Helix entered a new release cycle in 2024 and 2025, followed by the 12-track Scrap Metal album through INDIE TUNZ Records in January 2026. The band continued with a reissue of White Lace & Black Leather, new singles The Storm and Running Wild In The 21st Century, and an official 2026 Canadian concert schedule. The exact Spotify identity contains 31 distinct primary album and single containers from 1983 through July 2026: 11 albums and 20 provider-classified singles. The provider set is a current platform view rather than a complete historical discography and retains release classifications and dates exactly as supplied. Apple Music corroborates the Kitchener identity, formation year, core catalog, and active 2026 cycle, but its same-name page also contains unrelated releases. Those collisions are excluded from this record. The official Planet Helix site supplies the public contact route and current events. No direct email address is republished, and Spotify media is displayed remotely with provider attribution.
