Helix is a hard rock and heavy metal band formed in Kitchener, Ontario in 1974. The group began as the Helix Field Band and shortened its name as it developed a steady Canadian club circuit. Independent albums Breaking Loose and White Lace & Black Leather established the early catalog before a Capitol Records period brought No Rest for the Wicked, Walkin' The Razor's Edge, Long Way To Heaven, and Wild In The Streets. Songs including Heavy Metal Love, Rock You, Deep Cuts the Knife, and Gimme Gimme Good Lovin' became enduring parts of the band's live identity.
