Honeymoon Suite is a melodic rock band formed in Niagara Falls, Ontario, in 1981. Vocalist and guitarist Johnnie Dee and lead guitarist Derry Grehan rebuilt the early lineup with drummer Dave Betts, keyboardist Ray Coburn, and bassist Gary Lalonde. A 1983 win in Toronto radio station Q107's Homegrown Contest led to a WEA Canada agreement and the band's self-titled 1984 debut. The album introduced New Girl Now, Burning in Love, Stay in the Light, and Wave Babies, while The Big Prize and Racing After Midnight extended the group's mix of hard rock, polished keyboards, and large vocal hooks. Honeymoon Suite received the 1986 JUNO Award for Group of the Year and continued recording and touring through later lineup changes. Dee, Grehan, Betts, and Lalonde reunited in the early 2000s with keyboardist Peter Nunn, and current official material retains that five-member lineup. Alive arrived in 2024, followed in July 2025 by Wake Me Up When The Sun Goes Down, recorded with producer and co-writer Michael Krompass.
