The artist
India Gailey builds poetic, exploratory music for cello, voice and ensemble. Based in Kjipuktuk (Halifax), she performs as a soloist and collaborator, writes for chamber groups and orchestra, and works across composed and improvised practice. Recent work includes Problematica, Butterfly Lightning Shakes the Earth with Symphony Nova Scotia, and continuing commissions for choirs, dancers and interdisciplinary projects.
