About
The artist
Jreg is the performance and music persona of Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist Greg Guevara. Originally from Ottawa, Guevara developed Jreg across videos, music, podcasts, live performance, and visual art before moving to Toronto and building a local creative community there. His exact Spotify identity begins with the August 2019 single Maybe He's Just Ape-Political and contains 56 primary album and single containers through June 2026. The catalog is classified by Spotify as one album and 55 singles. Early political-satire songs including Leftist Unity, Every Extreme Is on the Same Team, I Want to Die in a War, Print Money, and Ancapistan established a compact mix of character writing, comedy, rap, and electronic pop. Jreg and producer Liam Schwisberg expanded that approach on the 17-track Postmodern Love Songs in July 2024. The album uses shifting pop styles, theatrical delivery, and layered irony to examine contemporary relationships alongside climate anxiety, artificial intelligence, online celebrity, social isolation, and mental health. Current releases continue beyond the album, including Deep Personal Lies in 2024, Everything I See on My Phone Makes Me Sad and Total Clanker Death in 2025, and Is That All You Got? in June 2026. Identity and current geography are independently aligned: Jreg's official site identifies Guevara as a Toronto-based creative, while a direct January 2025 interview documents his recent move from Ottawa to Toronto and discusses his work as a Toronto artist. The same interview identifies Schwisberg as the album's co-creator and producer. No authoritative music-award record or public professional inquiry route was confirmed in this pass, so those optional fields remain unknown and no private contact details are inferred. Spotify media is displayed live with provider attribution and a monogram fallback.
