Justin Rutledge is an alt-country and Americana singer-songwriter from Toronto who is now based in Picton, Ontario. He released his debut album, No Never Alone, in 2004, followed by records including The Devil on a Bench in Stanley Park, Man Descending, The Early Widows, Valleyheart, Daredevil, East, Passages, Islands, and Something Easy. The Early Widows grew from a collaboration with author Michael Ondaatje, and Rutledge produced Valleyheart while contributing guitar, banjo, and harmonica. Valleyheart won the 2014 JUNO Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year: Solo.
