The artist

Kardinal Offishall is the artist identity of Jason Drew Harrow, a rapper, producer, and music executive based in Vaughan, Ontario, with an active professional base in Toronto. His music grew from Toronto's 1990s hip-hop community and combines rap with reggae, dancehall, soul, and the city's Caribbean musical vocabulary. He became part of the national conversation through the Circle and his appearance with Rascalz, Choclair, Checkmate, and Thrust on Northern Touch. Quest for Fire: Firestarter, Vol. 1 arrived in 2001 and helped introduce the T-Dot sound through songs including BaKardi Slang and Ol' Time Killin'. Fire & Glory followed in 2005, and Not 4 Sale expanded his international audience in 2008. Its Akon collaboration Dangerous reached the top five of the Billboard Hot 100, making Kardinal the first Canadian rapper to reach that level on the chart. Kardi Gras, Vol. 1: The Clash continued his album catalog in 2015. His exact Spotify identity currently contains 39 primary release containers from April 2001 through June 2026: four albums, one six-track EP normalized from Spotify's single classification, and 34 singles. Recent independent releases include LET EM OUT and SOAK in 2025, followed by My Brother's Keeper and Where There's Smoke in 2026. LET EM OUT was written and produced by Kardinal, and current coverage places the song within his Everyday, Sometimes recording project. Alongside his own music, he works as Global A&R lead at Def Jam Recordings and has continued to mentor and develop artists. He served as a judge on the 2025 season of Canada's Got Talent and remains active in Toronto music and community initiatives. The JUNO Awards record four wins and 17 nominations, while Canada's Walk of Fame presented him with the Allan Slaight Music Impact Honour in 2023.
