The artist
Kelly Bado is an Ivorian-Canadian singer-songwriter based in Winnipeg. Born in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, she moved to Manitoba in 2007 and developed a musical practice that connects French and English pop with R&B, soul, African languages, and West African traditions. Her releases include Entre deux, Hey Terre, and the 2025 album Belles Âmes, produced by Brian ‘Sweetwesty’ West. The album led into Canadian, European, and Asian performances, while a new English-language project followed in 2026. Bado has shared stages with artists including Angélique Kidjo and received 2025 Western Canadian Music Award nominations in global and francophone categories.
