About

The artist

Kevin Breit is a Toronto guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, arranger, and mixer. Raised in McKerrow in Northern Ontario, he later built a career spanning studio work, touring, and his own projects. His playing connects jazz improvisation, blues, folk, roots music, country colour, and experimental rock. Breit has recorded or performed with artists including Norah Jones, k.d. lang, Rosanne Cash, Sylvia Tyson, and Natalie MacMaster. He leads or co-leads projects including Sisters Euclid, Stretch Orchestra, Folkalarm, and collaborations with Harry Manx and Cyro Baptista. Sisters Euclid's Run Neil Run received the 2007 JUNO Award for Instrumental Album of the Year. Stretch Orchestra, with Matt Brubeck and Jesse Stewart, received the same JUNO category award in 2012. Breit's Johnny Goldtooth and the Chevy Casanovas later received a 2019 JUNO nomination in that category. His exact Spotify identity currently contains twelve primary album and single releases from November 2007 through June 2026. MusicList normalizes those containers as ten albums and two singles. Love Theme (Bladerunner), released by Poverty Playlist in June 2026 with pianist Aaron Davis, is the newest record on that exact profile. Breit Workman, a six-track collaboration with Hawksley Workman, appeared through Isadora Records in 2021. Stella Bella Strada and Johnny Goldtooth and the Chevy Casanovas were released through Stony Plain Records in 2019 and 2017. The artist-controlled 2024 album There's This features Rebecca Jenkins and Paul Pigat, with additional Toronto sessions and arrangements by Breit. That record credits him as writer, producer, arranger, and mixer, alongside his acoustic guitar, Moog bass, and vocal performances. His artist-controlled Bandcamp identifies Toronto, Ontario, and Harry Manx's current official discography independently identifies Breit with Toronto.
