About

The artist

Kevin Parent is a bilingual singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer, and actor professionally based in Nouvelle, Quebec. He grew up in the bilingual Gaspé Peninsula community and began performing in bars in the early 1990s. Winning the Pouvoir de la Chanson songwriting competition in 1993 led to a three-album agreement with Tacca Musique. His 1995 debut, Pigeon d'argile, sold more than 375,000 copies and established songs including Seigneur, Boomerang, Father on the Go, and Fréquenter l'oubli. Grand parleur, petit faiseur followed in 1998, while Les vents ont changé, the live album Retrouvailles, and the English-language Fangless Wolf Facing Winter expanded his catalog through the 2000s. Later albums include Face à l'ouest and Kanji. The exact Spotify identity currently contains twenty primary album and single containers from 1995 through October 2025. MusicList normalizes those provider records as eight albums, one EP, and eleven singles. The six-track D'une rive à l'autre is counted as an EP because Spotify presents the release that way even though the provider API groups it with singles. Parent is also credited as a producer on Kanji alongside Malcolm Burn, with Glen Robinson mixing and Howie Weinberg mastering. His awards include the 2002 JUNO Award for Best Selling Francophone Album for Les vents ont changé. ADISQ records also document major Félix wins during the first Pigeon d'argile cycle, including Song of the Year for Seigneur and Male Performer of the Year in 1996. He remains active in 2026 with a thirtieth-anniversary Pigeon d'argile tour scheduled across Quebec and New Brunswick. Current regional coverage identifies him as a Gaspésie artist, while the Municipality of Nouvelle describes him as deeply rooted in the community and documents his continuing professional activity around Nouvelle, Miguasha, and Carleton-sur-Mer. Those sources support Nouvelle as the public professional base without publishing nonprofessional details. Public booking inquiries are directed to Agence BAM. Spotify media is displayed remotely with provider attribution and a monogram fallback.
