The artist

KILLY is the stage name of Khalil Tatem, a Toronto rapper and songwriter known for melodic flows, modulated vocals, ambient trap production, and a visual identity developed alongside his music. He grew up between Toronto and Victoria before returning to Toronto and becoming involved in the city's nightlife and creative community. His first widely recognized release was Killamonjaro, issued in 2017 after he held the recording back until its video and presentation were ready. The song's success led to a rapid international audience and established the emotionally charged, synth-heavy sound that continued across his early catalog. KILLY released the independent album Surrender Your Soul through Secret Sound Club in March 2018. The project brought together producers including Boi-1da, WondaGurl, Daxz, 1Mind, and Wallis Lane.
