The artist

Kym Gouchie is a Lheidli T'enneh singer-songwriter, storyteller, visual artist, and cultural ambassador who lives in her ancestral territory in Prince George, British Columbia. Her acoustic guitar, hand drum, voice, and narrative work connect family and community memory with Indigenous language, the land, healing, women's experience, and reconciliation. Her catalog includes Mountain of Youth, Sister Rain, In the Hearts of You & Me, Northern Shining Star Woman, and the 2024 album Shun Beh Nats'ujeh: We Are Healing Through Songs. That album received a 2025 JUNO nomination for Children's Album of the Year and Western Canadian recognition. Gouchie's wider cultural work includes traditional welcomes, school and conference appearances, board service, visual art, and advocacy for Lheidli T'enneh history and language.
