The artist
La Patente is a francophone folk-punk and country-rock quartet founded in 2020, with roots in New Brunswick's Madawaska region and based in Fredericton. Comprising Marc Colecchio, Marc-André Godin, Mathieu Émond, and Jean-Denis Migneault, the group fuses driving acoustic rhythms, banjo, and raw punk vitality with authentic Brayon and Acadian storytelling. Following their 2021 debut album L'illusion d'la perfection and 2023 EP Le paradis des infidèles, the band delivered their expansive 2025 studio record Le cirque des mal-aimés, earning widespread acclaim and frequent touring appearances across Canada and Europe.
