About

The artist

Laurence Nerbonne is a Montréal singer-songwriter, producer, beatmaker, and visual artist. After leading the Outaouais-founded indie-rock group Hôtel Morphée, she began her solo catalogue with Rêves d'été in 2015 and released XO the following year. Rêves d'été won the French-language SOCAN Songwriting Prize in 2016, and XO won Francophone Album of the Year at the 2017 JUNO Awards. Nerbonne continued to combine pop writing with electronic and hip-hop production on FEU in 2019 and OMG in 2021. Her official biography credits her as the producer of her own songs and says she directed each of her first four solo albums. It also documents production work for the Star Académie theme Changer le monde, music for the films Niagara and Pas de chicane dans ma cabane, and recordings by other Quebec artists. Le ciel est beau regarde les nuages arrived through STE-4 in March 2024. NEXT followed on April 17, 2026, joining 1990s pop references, disco-scale arrangements, electronic beats, and more intimate songwriting. Current reporting describes the fifth album as self-produced, and the official site lists a Quebec tour through November 2026.
