The artist
Leaf Rapids is a four-piece Winnipeg band led by Keri and Devin Latimer with Joanna Miller and Chris Dunn. The band’s current official biography frames its music as cinematic Canadiana, Manitoba Motown, and spacey spaghetti western, built from sweet harmonies, guitar, and theremin. Its third album, Velvet Paintings, was released in 2024 and produced by John Paul Peters and Keri Latimer in Winnipeg; the earlier albums Lucky Stars and Citizen Alien established the group’s roots-oriented catalog. The band’s current site records a 2025 Western Canadian Music Awards Roots Artists of the Year win and lists contemporary public shows and releases.
