About

The artist

Lindi Ortega is a singer and songwriter based in Creston, British Columbia. Her work combines country, Americana, southern-gothic atmosphere, roots rock, and Latin-country colour with narrative songwriting and a distinctive high vibrato. After developing as an independent artist in Toronto, Ortega recorded in Nashville and released Little Red Boots in 2011, followed by Cigarettes & Truckstops, Tin Star, Faded Gloryville, and the cinematic concept album Liberty. She later moved back to Western Canada and stepped away from performance while recovering from vocal injury and major personal changes. From the Ether marked a full-length return in October 2024. The sixteen-track album uses country-noir and ghost-story imagery and was released by Truly Handmade Records, the label associated with Guy Clark's estate. Current artist-controlled pages also feature the 2024 Jack Barksdale collaboration How's It Gonna End and route booking inquiries through Shadowbox Music. Her exact Spotify identity contains twenty-three distinct principal album and single containers available in Canada from June 2011 through October 2024: eight albums and fifteen singles according to Spotify's current classifications. Representative releases include From the Ether, Liberty, Faded Gloryville, Tin Star, Cigarettes & Truckstops, and Little Red Boots. Official JUNO records document New Artist and Roots & Traditional Album nominations in 2012 and another Roots & Traditional nomination for Tin Star in 2014. Polaris Music Prize records place Little Red Boots and Cigarettes & Truckstops on the 2012 and 2013 Long Lists. Current geography is independently supported: a 2026 CKUA interview quotes Ortega from her home in Creston, while the current Starbelly Jam presenter profile identifies Creston as her home base. The official site and current presenter records document active recording and touring through 2025 and 2026. Professional inquiries are routed through the official booking form without republishing direct details. Spotify media is rendered live with provider attribution and a monogram fallback.
