The artist
Founded in Calgary in 2012 by artistic director Timothy Shantz, Luminous Voices is a professional chamber choir bringing together singers from Alberta and beyond. The ensemble presents several signature concert programs each season alongside recordings, workshops, commissions, and community initiatives. Its recorded catalog ranges from Mendelssohn and Ukrainian composer Artem Vedel to contemporary Canadian works, including Sea Dreams, Ispiciwin, and Fire-Flowers. Luminous Voices has earned national recognition for its recordings and received a 2025 JUNO Award nomination for Fire-Flowers.
