About

The artist

Mallory Chipman is an acclaimed singer-songwriter, producer, arranger, and vocal educator based in Edmonton, Alberta. Recognized for her commanding vocal range, thoughtful storytelling, and genre-blurring arrangements, Chipman bridges intimate indie folk, vintage roots, and atmospheric art rock. A graduate of MacEwan University who later earned a master's degree from the London College of Music, she returned to Edmonton to serve as Section Head of Voice at MacEwan and was appointed the Edmonton Public Library's inaugural Musician in Residence in 2023. Her solo recordings include the critically celebrated album Songs to a Wild God, which reached number one on Alberta's CKUA radio chart, alongside the bird-call concept project As Though I Had Wings and the 2026 full-length album Lawless. Beyond her solo career, Chipman fronts the psych-rock outfit Mallory Chipman & the Mystics, performs with the roots duo The Goddamsels, and co-founded Tunnel Mountain Records, a cooperative music label services collective supporting western Canadian independent musicians.
