The artist

Marcus Trummer is a Calgary singer-songwriter and guitarist who blends blues, soul, R&B, and rock while drawing on the traditions behind those forms. After building an audience with early band releases, he introduced his solo catalog with the 2024 album From the Start, a ten-song record led by tracks including Holding Out for You, Waiting for Change, and Let You Down. The album earned a 2025 Western Canadian Music Award nomination for Blues Artist of the Year. Trummer previously won the 2023 Telluride Blues Challenge and was named Male Blues Vocalist of the Year at the 2026 Canadian Blues Music Awards, while expanding his touring into the United States and Europe.
