The artist

Martha and the Muffins are a Toronto new wave and art-pop band formed in 1977. The original group emerged from the Ontario College of Art community with Martha Johnson on vocals and keyboards, Mark Gane on guitar, Carl Finkle on bass, Tim Gane on drums, Martha Ladly on keyboards and trombone, and Andy Haas on saxophone. Their 1980 debut album Metro Music introduced Echo Beach, written by Gane.
