About
The artist
Proper Man is a Canadian indie rock and new wave ensemble originating from West Kelowna in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley. Formed by enigmatic frontman and winemaker Jason 'Norm' Parkes alongside musicians Petri Nieminen, Nori Wentworth, Jorden Gordon, and Travis Saunders, the band combines vintage 1980s synth sensibilities, driving rock percussion, and charismatic post-punk delivery. Proper Man gained a devoted following as the resident house band at the subterranean speakeasy Broken Hearts Club, situated beneath Crown & Thieves winery in West Kelowna. With celebrated full-length releases like Forty Elephants and punchy, hook-driven anthems including Kleptomaniac, The Broken Heart's Club, and Goodbye, Proper Man captures a rare theatrical swagger in the Pacific Northwest music scene.
